Abstract

Glycoprotein (GP) VI and C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) are important surface receptors expressed on platelets that share a common signaling pathway downstream of a hemi-immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (hemITAM). This chapter discusses what is known about the structure, ligands, and signaling of both proteins, and the diverse and complex platelet functions that they mediate.
