Tom undertook his undergraduate and taught postgraduate studies at the University of Exeter and Liverpool John Moores University. Following a brief research post at Swansea University working on the development of an implantable artificial lung he undertook his PhD at the University of East Anglia. Tom’s PhD focused on the initial phases of developing an intervention to promote physical activity in the total hip replacement population. This was followed by a working on a project promoting physical activity in people with a Spinal Cord Injury.
