Biography

Dr Papettas undertook undergraduate studies in law at the University of Birmingham from 2001 - 2004. After graduating she took up a position at Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham as a fee earner in International Travel Litigation, eventually leaving to take up a post teaching law to sixth form students. Dr. Papettas returned to the University of Birmingham in 2009 as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant. As a PTA She taught on both the Public Law and Tort Law Undergraduate modules and also assisted in the teaching of the LLM module in Commercial Conflict of Laws. She has recently completed research for a PhD thesis in the area of Conflict of Laws, looking specifically at issues of choice of law for Cross Border Road Traffic Accidents.

Dr Papettas has had a number of pieces of work published in various academic journals. She has also provided expert evidence to a meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament on the relationship between the Rome II Regulation, the Motor Insurance Directive and The Hague Convention on the Law Applicable to Traffic Accidents.
